If you get a nice place in search results in Google, Yahoo or Live, you will get a nice amount of traffic to your site. With the help of search traffic, you will get more visitors in your blog, not just ordinary visitors, the people who are searching for your content.
every search engines have their programs to search web sites. These are called robots, bots, spiders or crawlers. They will come to visit your site regularly and they will tell google if it is important to put your name in their database or not?
So you can wait for the crawlers to come automatically an index your site. Or why wait, lets tell google about it! If you submit your blog to the major search engines, they will index your page faster. So lets do it,
Google
Google is the search king, most used and more reliable. Google system is more advanced and your blog can be easily indexed on the site. Most of the time, you don’t even have to submit your url, google does it automatically. If your site is not in google’s list, then submit it.
Go to google.com/addurl. Submit your address with the prefix ‘http://’ like, http://www.your-site.com. Add your tagline and the code, shown on the page and click add url. You’re done.
Yahoo search
Yahoo is the biggest website in the internet. many people use yahoo search to find websites. Go to Yahoo submit your site and type your blog address. Click submit URL and you are done.
Live search
Live is the advance version of Microsoft’s online venture. Live search is also an useful source of targeted traffic. Go to Live search submit URL and type your blog’s address. Fill in the verification code. Click submit URL and its done.
Please be patient because its up to the search engines should they show your blog in their results or not? Usually it takes a couple of months to get search traffic. As you work more on blogging, you will discover new ways to get listed on search engines.
- You just have to add the main address of your blog, not all of the pages
- Don’t submit the URL more than once
- Avoid automated submissions softwares

Why automated submission softwares is bad choice? Never used them but still interesting to know lol ….
Automated services will take a fee to submit your site/ or some are free.. they will claim to list you in 1000 or so on search engines; they use bots to get you listed and this way your site can be easily marked as a spam site and dumped into the sandbox!

In most cases, you don’t even have to submit, if you get links from indexed sites, then search engines will find you soon.
