Earn money from a blog (South Asian point of view -India, Bangladesh, Pakistan)

Now as a reply I’m writing a full post on this topic and for this I’m going to use the South Asian economical point of view. You all know that making money with a blog is possible and I can say it with strong confident because I made money online. Big bloggers are making lots of money online and I’d say the same thing what they told us if you want to know, “How much money can I make with a blog?” Now here you asked me not to answer like a philosopher.

If you want to know the limit of blog earning, then there’s no limit in it. But you have to figure out what are your expectations with a blog? For an example, in the very beginning a blog can earn $50, $100, $200, $300 or even $400 a month. If you’re a student and living in south Asia, then $100 is a nice amount to depend on it.

Try having a goal to earn $100-200/mo without any investments. $100 means TK7000 and you won’t be able to earn such money in your surroundings with such qualifications.

Let’s take a look on how you can achieve that goal,

The Adsense way

The very basic way to earn money with a blog is adsense. If you have an adsense account, then you know that they will pay you only when you earn $100. A lot of people ask me how long it takes to earn $100 ?

If you want to earn $100/month via adsense, you have to earn at least $3/day. That will only happen when you have 500-1000 visitors a day. This is a tough approach and at this point you have less than 100 visitors a day. But if you have a good niche and nice ad placements, then you can be able to earn at least $20/mo. Getting your first check will take 5-6 months or even a year. This means you cannot rely on adsense completely, you have to look for alternatives.

Affiliate sales

Alternatives to adsense don’t mean more CPC ads on your blog. Try different methods like affiliates. Search the internet for good relevant products on your niche. For an example, if your blog is on photography, then your readers will be interested on cameras and digital imaging products. Take a look at ClickBank and find a good affiliate program. Search a product that pays $10-20 per sale. Now if your blog generates even 1-2 sales per month, you’re still making $20 with affiliate commissions.

Paid reviews

Paid review sites such as PayPerPost and others pay you for each review you write on your blog. This is a good money making model because each review pays $5-$20 in average. If you make $5-$10/review and do 6-10 reviews a month, you can be able to make $50 or more.

Twitter income

Now days, twitter can be used to make money with your blog. A lot of websites are here to earn money with tweets and sell your twitter background. Be a magpie and RevTwt pays you to post sponsored tweets and TwittAd pays you for your twitter background. Read this article for twitter money making. If you can even make $10/mo with twitter, then it’s worth your efforts.

Can we make at least $100/mo?

Let’s see,
Adsense: $20
Affiliates: $20
Paid reviews: $50
Twitter: $10
———————-
Total: $100

The figures could go up and down when you’re in action but it’s a great starting point. Most of the online websites only pays via PayPal so it’s better to have a paypal account. Since PayPal is not available in BD, you can also take help from broker companies.

Earn without a blog

Blog money making is just a part of “Make money online”. Lot money can be made online even without a blog. If you need a guild line on money making, here some of them at a glance,

  • PTC (Paid to click) -Earn money by viewing ads
  • Freelance writer -Earn money by writing articles for other websites. Can take a look at jobs.problogger.net
  • Online jobs -Misc online jobs for web designers, marketing experts, SEO, SMM, graphics designers, photoshop, logo designers, surveys, email, commenting etc.
  • Private Service -Your own service like small business, article writing, web design etc.
  • Ways for teens to make money online.
  • MLM -Earn money with online MLM opportunities such as AGEL, GNLD
  • ForEx -Forex trading can be done to make money by investing more money. Takes lot of capital.
  • Gambling -Casino sites, betting, loto, bingo type gambling websites.
  • Porn industry -A big money can be made from porn websites, affiliate sales and content producing.

Benefits of earning with a blog

Other than any online opportunities, here you can work for your own. You can build a reputation as a blogger and get world recognition. Build your blog as an asset; your own business with no boss; get friends, fans and supporters all around the world.

Another great way of making money is selling digital products online. payloadz, tradebit, clickbank etc will give you the opportunity to sell your digital products in their stores. payloadz and tradebit will be the best for newbies because they are free to use and have affiliate system too.
freelancing in different forums is also an good idea. just be efficient in oney or two subjects like seo, ad posting, article writing and make offers whenever anyone post a job. develop good communication skill and be honest. I ensure you are gonna be busy :)
its an proven way and i am making arround 250 USD per month from just one forum and i only do seo. if you are efficient in programming than you will be able more than 500+. I think it is enough to live and save for later investment.
anyways thanks to Tamal for such good post. young enterprenuers are really in need of motivation and the right direction.

Affiliate sales with a blog is extremely tough if you’re writing about different things, not a niche. A great practice is to create a mini site and enjoy the affiliate sales over time :D

I respectfully disagree with you on this one, Tamal. Your blog is wonderful, your posts informative and interesting and I’m a faithful reader. But I am signed up for those things and don’t make nearly anything from 3 blogs. I have the books and have read so much about making money with blogs, but in real life it’s just not like that. :\

I think it’s misleading to tell people even these numbers – Let’s see,
Adsense: $20
Affiliates: $20
Paid reviews: $50
Twitter: $10
———————-
Total: $100

@earthmom22, Hey, thanks for the comment. Now I won’t tell you that I felt lucky and this was the reason for me to make money online. But the reality is harder than the figures. I’m not misleading people and if I had that thing in mind, then I’d attract high attention from the beginning by showing my earning figures.

Your case is not differnet than others and lots of people out there having much more talant and effort but making no money with a blog. Sometimes you’re doing the right thing but in the wrong direction and sometimes following the right path but no effort.

Blog money takes time and dedication. I had few hundreds of dollars stuck online that I can’t withdraw before the payment threshold. I had $60-70 dollars in my first adsense account and it’s stuck. Still I’m looking forward for more sources of money making and telling about my discoveries.

They say, “when you’re stuck, start all over again.” I’d advice you to start all over again with one blog.

From Bangladesh, Paid Review, Affiliate and AdSense are the best ways although they are tough to get started. Earning $20 per month from AdSense is sometimes hard for general people. And twitter takes much more time to get sufficient followers who can earn you $10 per month.

From general people’s perspective, it’s almost impossible. On the other hand, for expert bloggers, it’s less than they earn. :|

For BD people, it’s un-imaginable that someone can actually earn while browsing the internet. In IT, India is 25 years ahead of BD and they have developed the next Silicon Valley.

We can’t advance before we take over the high places of govt. ~So let’s get working against all odds!
